YP Weekend – A weekend of service and fun during which young professionals celebrate their accomplishments while giving back to youth in the Greater Pittsburgh region through an annual back-to-school drive.
Thanksgiving Adopt-A-High-Rise – Young Professionals take time out of their holiday to spend with seasoned members of our community at a local senior citizen high-rise. A great family activity!
Holiday Soul Food Dinner – A members-only event in which ULYP takes the time to thank our members for being committed to the organization and the Urban League Movement.
Holiday Soiree – A partnership with other young professional organizations in the region to celebrate the holidays and each other. Proceeds from the event are donated to a non-profit organization that serves children.
Urban Empowerment Gala – The Urban Empowerment Gala, ULYP’s largest fundraiser, celebrates the Urban League Movement. Young professionals who exemplify the National Urban League’s 5 empowerment points through their service to the region are honored, and the night culminates in live entertainment and dancing.
Young Blacks Give Back – During the entire month of May we bring attention to the National Urban League’s Five Empowerment Points by servicing our communities. This month has been acknowledged by the City of Pittsburgh with a Proclamation.
Professional Development Month – During the month of July ULYP focuses on the development of our members and the community at large through workshops and seminars that enhance our leadership and professional skills. The month culminates in a trip to the National Urban League Conference, in which all ULYP members are encouraged to participate.
